Super Daisenryaku  Sega1989First "Daisenryaku" game that appeared on a 16-bit console. Graphically its still looking like an 8-bit version though. The Daisenryaku turn-based game system is a rather complex one and originated on Japanese homecomputer systems, so I would say its more for the hardcore strategy gamers and doesn't has this light-hearted and easy to play feel like let's say Nectaris for the PC-Engine. There is no story in this game. You can choose of a variety of maps and up to four players. Interestingly some of the maps are reminiscent of other video games. There is a map that looks like the overworld of Phantasy Star 2 for example. If you like turn-based strategy games with hex fields and accept the somewhat slow scrolling and overall slow gameplay, then you can't go wrong with this game. labelimageminimize
Liberty or Death KOEI (Koei)1992Relive the American Revolution with LIBERTY OR DEATH. Take the role of George Washington as you try to raise money to build forts, supply troops, and create new weapons. Once the infrastructure is in place, lead your armies into battle. Have direct battlefield confrontation or use guerilla tactics to inflict damage. To gain some additional advantages, have the Navy take control of the high seas. If you'd rather lead the British Army to victory, then take the role of Thomas Gage and make different decisions. With LIBERTY OR DEATH, you just might change history.***Its 1775 and the revolutionary war is about to begin. Will you be The British commander or will you be Geroge Washington. Will you change history or be changed by it. This a war simulation game. labelimagesubject
